Huge Record Breaking Dinner At Coney Island Is a No-Dish!

Big record breaking dinner event in Coney Island will not be taking place.  Due to the short notice with city procedures.  Just more sluggish city red tape mediocrity.

Here is the official letter of cancellation:

Coney Friends:

First of all, thank you to all of you who made it to the meeting this morning, especially on such short notice.  I again want to thank everyone for the enthusiasm you showed for this Guinness World Record attempt and publicity opportunity.   The planning for the event has been moving very fast, and we felt it was important to loop in the Coney stakeholders as early as possible.  (For your reference, the sign-in sheet from the meeting is attached.)
Unfortunately, we received some bad news on the way back from the meeting, and it looks definitive at this point that despite best efforts of all involved—including the NYPD—the event will not proceed due to concerns with public assembly coordination on short notice.  While we had suggested to you at the meeting that this was a fear and a possibility, I wanted to give you all that information as soon as I had it.  NYC&Co relays their sincere regrets and explains that the event had looked locked-in until just today—indeed, many of the supplies were already on order. And as I’m sure you could tell from today’s briefing, the NYC&Co team had spent quite a bit of time working on this event, and did so at a truly break-neck pace.
Please know that we are always trying to find new ways to create buzz and attention for Coney Island, and we’ll be spending some time with the NYC&Co entertainment team thinking about how we can collaborate going forward and how we can better organize around big events on tight timelines like this one.
Thanks again, and I’m sorry that I have to be the bearer of bad news, and I’m sorry again for taking up your time this morning.  If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call at 212-312-4263 or 347-672-6293.  Otherwise, best wishes for the weekend.

Coney Event: Clowns Of Coney Island

From Coney Island USA:

The circus is always in town when the town is Coney Island, they're all here! real! and clownin'! on the inside for you! The cast is known for sword swallowing, fire eating, snake charming, big busty bumps and grinds, being electrocuted on stage and you'll see all that and more!

Not in over 2 years has New York seen a show like this, because that's when Dottie Lux, Clown Burlesque Babe, left her beloved rotten apple for San Francisco, the land of avocados and marijuana and took "Clowns of Coney Island" with her. You have all but rarely seen her big bouncing balloons or shiny red nose since then and it is her esteemed honor to bring back to you the downtown clowns you have come to know and love, but you rarely if ever see them like this: a little more silly a little more filthy and entirely CLOWNED!

Dottie Lux welcomes performances by:
albert cadabra as ALBERT CLOWNDABRA
nik sin as NIK SIN THE CLOWN
world famous *bob* as PETUNIA PIEFACE
serpentina as CLOWN SERPENTINA
remy vicious as CLOWNY VICIOUS
glenn marla as GLENN CLOWNLA

Dottie Lux is turning Coney Clowny once again!
