Guaranteeing accuracy and humor, the authorized tour of Coney Island is developed in association with founder of Coney Island USA; Dick Zigun and licensed by NYC tour guides. It's an hour walking tour of Coney Island. (expect to get sand in your shoes).  The tour starts at the Coney Island Museum on Surf Avenue and W. 12th Street and takes you through Coney Island's significant places on the weekends all year-round.  It's $25 per person.  Is this a replacement for Captain Bob?  Ask your tour guide.  By appointment only. Coney Event: The Ride Inspector's Nightmare

The Halloween extravaganza at Coney Island USA is interactive, creepy, and a "ride" into a twisted nightmare of an amusement park gone hellishly wrong.

THE RIDE INSPECTOR'S NIGHTMARE is an interactive show (allow 45 minutes for the complete experience) that tours various rooms at the Coney Island Sideshows by the Seashore building generally not available to the public such as the damp creepy basement, back stairs, etc.

Audience members will take a "tour" of several amusement park ride "NYPD Crime Scenes" including a deadly collapsed roller coaster  and will meet living-dead performers along the way including drunken incompetent ride inspectors, creepy ticket sellers  and lots of dead and decapitated bodies of innocent tourists. At the conclusion of the show, the audience will also get to partake in a courtroom trial of the negligent ride inspector and will be sworn in for horrific jury duty.

CREEPSHOW AT THE FREAKSHOW is Coney Island’s original Halloween extravaganza and one of the best haunted tours in all of New York City. This year, the rides at new Luna Park will be open weekends during the October run of the show. With all the annual and first-time (especially this year) competitions to spring about at Coney Island, the little furry sweethearts can't be left behind.  From the quirkiest little creature pets to the usual cast of cats and dogs, "Coney Island's Sweetheart 2010 Pet Pageant" is sure to be a best in show!

Coney Island, NY, August 2, 2010 – In one of the most inspiring and historical sites of entertainment in New York City, nightlife starlettes Sequinette and Bambi the Mermaid present the first edition of the Annual Coney Island Sweetheart Pet Pageant.

Inviting our smaller, cuter, and furrier friends to join us in the spotlight, this family oriented event will bring New York's cutest, most beloved and well-dressed creatures great and small under one roof. The pageant is open to all pets - dogs, cats, birds, fish, turtles, snakes, rodents and any other creature that would enjoy a day at the sideshow. Audience members are strongly encouraged, but not required to bring their pets.

All pets in costume will be eligible to enter the costume contest! A fantastic show will be put on by the contestants and members of the Coney Island Sideshow at this kid-friendly day-time event at the beach. In addition to all of these great festivities, an eagle will be making a special appearance! Raffle tickets with fantastic prizes will be sold to raise money for BARC Animal Shelter. Proceeds go to BARC and Coney Island USA.

Coney Events: Mr. Victoria at the Freak Bar!

This week a load of events brought to you by the Coney Island USA's cultural experience.  Micheal W. Haar plays the real oldies of the 20th century from original old time records.

Native New Yorker and professional barber, Michael W. Haar has been a discerning collector and provider of early 20th century music since the age of 19. With nearly 1,000 original discs and cylinders from the Acoustic-Recording Era (1890-1925), "Mister Victrola" has been cranking out these nostalgic tunes over the years at indoor and outdoor events across NYC. He was given the honor to provide the classic soundtrack to last summer's 82nd Anniversary of the Coney Island Cyclone and this Friday, the 'cranky' DJ returns with Popular Dance songs from the turn-of-the-20th century through the late 1920's. All original records will be spun on two 1925 talking machines powered only by the cranking of these phonographs.
