According to a press release by the Shmaltz Brewing Company in Brooklyn, their "Chosen" and "Coney Island Lager" beer's sales and been sky rocketing despite the bad economy.As Brownstoner reporeted:
HE'BREW Beer and Coney Island Lager, reported that its sale rose 80% in 2008 and predicts it will clear the $2 million sales mark in '09. Although it's a member of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, Shmaltz actually makes its brews in Upstate New York.
