Like the rest of the city (and state, and twenty-three other states), Coney Island turned out to the polls yesterday. The New York Times was the scene at the Church School on West 19th Street bright and early in the morning:
No line, 16 voters so far, smooth voting. The Church School's gymnasium was empty except for one voting booth, the occasional voter and five volunteers who are discussing bakeries and coffee shops with the police officer assigned to the station.
