Founder of Gowanus Lounge: one of Brooklyn's most beloved and most informative blogs, Robert Guskind, passes away. Guskind was a strong and loud voice for Brooklyn and for Coney Island. He always surprised the online community with how he was able to report on his borough at the rate that he did. He was a also a true Coney lover who voiced his concerns for the fate of Coney Island on his remarkable blog: The Gowanus Lounge.

Kinetic Carnival is tremendously saddened to learn of his passing. Guskind was considered a friend. With only a few days of this blog's start, Robert was already giving us notice and mention on his blog. At the Brooklyn Bloggers meeting where I first met Bob, he had greeted me with glee and told me that he was looking very forward to meeting me. Over the course of next year or so, we bumped into each other occasionally in Coney Island taking pictures and sharing our concerns with the fate of our beloved Coney Island.

His wit and insightful reporting on Coney Island and Brooklyn will now be a huge loss for the community.
