NEW Coney Island USA Arts Center Rendering

The Coney Island USA arts organization which recently purchased their building this past August with help from the city's Department of Cultural affairs, has posted, on the side of their building, an artist's rendering of their new arts center which would very well look like their own mini Las Vegas extravaganza.

Last August curator, Aaron Beebe said he hopes to establish a small business incubator by leasing space out to "quirky, innovative, and creative" establishments.

The rendering shows the result in plans for what Dick Zigun, CIUSA founder said were 'mini' renovations for their building on Surf Avenue and W. 10th street.

Renovations were said to include constructing of a café and a new Surf Avenue grand entrance. As well, they intend to install an air conditioning unit in the building. and plans to expand their Sideshow by the Seashore theater from 100 to 200 seats.

The Renaissance style building was built in 1917 and originally once stood thirty feet to the east. It was one of the many homes for the popular Childs Restaurant chain.

The rendering is *purely* conceptual. Final product may differ; some settling may occur during shipping.
