The most recent installment of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle's 'On This Day in History' column is dedicated to the New York aquarium, the oldest aquarium in the United States. The aquarium was first established in 1896, in Battery Park. It was located at the Bronx Zoo briefly in the nineteen-fifties, before finally being moved to Coney Island, where it of course remains to this day.
