PROPOSED CONEY ISLAND ZONING FRAMEWORK

Monday, January 7, 2008 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Tuesday, January 8, 2008 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday, January 8, 2008 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Community information sessions on the proposed Coney Island zoning framework have been rescheduled and will take place on the evenings of Monday, January 7th and Tuesday, January 8th, 2008 at the Lincoln High School Auditorium. In addition, a daytime session will take place on Tuesday, January 8th at 3:00 p.m. at the Coney Island Hospital Auditorium. Representatives of the Coney Island Development Corporation and the Department of City Planning will be in attendance to provide an overview of the Coney Island plan, take public comments and answer questions. (Note: All three sessions will feature the same format, presentation and information.)

Following an approx. 30 minute presentation of the plan, members of the public will be provided with the opportunity to offer comments and/or ask questions. In order to accommodate as many people as possible, speakers will be asked to limit their comments to 3 minutes each. Individuals wishing to speak will be asked to sign-up at a registration table at the entrance to the auditorium.

Finally, it is important to note that these community information sessions are not public hearings as part of the official land use review process and are simply opportunities to inform Coney Island residents in advance of the public process. You also will have the opportunity to make your voice heard as part of the official record once the ULURP process begins in 2008.

Once again, we look forward to beginning our critically important community dialogue on a proposed zoning framework that will help to guide development in Coney Island for many years to come. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at 212-312-4233 or
info@thecidc.org.

Thank you.
