Obscure Coney Island Film to be Released on Blu-ray Disc

According to several blogs, including The Man Room, the next title to be released by Starz/ Anchor Bay on Blu-ray Disc (the technology slated to replace DVDs) will be an indie flick from 1998 titled, 'Went To Coney Island On a Mission From God… Be Back By Five.' It's not clear why this obscure film has been chosen to be released in this cutting edge format. What is clear is that the film takes place in Coney Island. The movie's plot summary on the Internet Movie Database is as follows:
Two young men (Jon Cryer, Rick Stear) who have been friends since early childhood decide to go on a trip to find a third friend (Rafael Baez) who has long since disappeared. Stories they have heard indicate that the friend has been seen in an apparently rambling, incoherent state at Coney Island. Their trip leads them to a number of adventures involving the other world-like life at the Park and revelations related to their own pasts including the death of one's sister, a failed past relationship, financial failings, and alcoholism.

This is one of my favorite movies -- so great to hear that it's coming out on Blu-Ray. (Of course, I don't have a Blu-Ray player yet but maybe this will motivate me to get one.)
