Last Friday's New York Times had an article on the wreckage of the yellow 'Quester I' submarine in Coney Island Creek. The Quester I was a treasure-hunting submarine built by a Brooklyn dock worker in the late 1960s, which unfortunately never made it out of Coney Island Creek.
The Times article is a nice slice of Coney Island story, and like so many Coney Island articles, relies on Charles Denson's expertise. For a fuller history of the history of the Quester I submarine, however, it's better to check out the account on Forgotten New York.
