The New York Aquarium is holding their first birthday celebration for their Biggest Baby Boy: Pacific walrus, AkituusaqThis marks the first birthday of a baby walrus in the New York Aquarium’s 112 year history. Only ten such rare births have occurred in any aquarium with only five surviving past the first year. At birth, Akituusaq weighed in at 115 pounds and has gained plenty of weight.
